Coefficient of Friction
Term: Coefficient of Friction
Category: Performance Features
Definition: The coefficient of friction (CoF) compares how much force is needed to slide one surface over another and how much force is pressing them together. A low CoF means the surfaces slide easily with little resistance. A high CoF means there is more grip or resistance.
Types:
- Static CoF: Resistance before sliding starts.
- Dynamic (Kinetic) CoF: Resistance once sliding has begun.
