Definition: Antifouling paints stop dirt, microorganisms, and bacteria from attaching themselves to their surface while protecting them from the environment by creating a slippery surface, using water to create a protective barrier, and/or containing chemical agents to keep the coating free of dirt, contaminants, and microorganisms.
