POLYCARBONATE HOT TUBE (SPA) WINDOWS


Anti-Fog Coating  with  #2009-68-2A&B)

 

OBJECTIVE:

 Client required an anti-fog coating for their spas panels. The inside portion of

the of polycarbonate windows was coated with Hydromer #2009-68-2. 
The working conditions of control topside: -4°F to 104°F with relative humidity of 100%.

 

MATERIAL:   2009-68-2A (2276-169) lot No.  (H06-06-14)

 

PROCEDURE:

 
CLEANING

1.      Cleaned the PC panels with isopropanol/lint free cloth.

2.      Air dried for five minutes.

COATING

1.                  Masking tape applied around polycarbonate panels.

2.                  Air brushed (25psi) diluted 2009-68-2A&B. Air dried for approximately 5-10 minutes.

               Note: Diluted 2009-68-2A&B                                    2009-68-2A&B(95:5)  = 2.5grams

                                                                                                Ethyl Lactate = 4.0grams

                                                                                                Cyclohexane = 3.5grams

3.                  Cured at 85°C (185°F) for 6.0 hours.


 

CONCLUSION:    One coated spas panel was tested on the steam chamber set at 50°C.
No fogging was detected after twenty hours exposure.
